Jenny Davison

My name is Jenny, a.k.a. Genardi, and I'm a costume and character designer based in the UK. I'm currently a student at Nottingham Trent University, working towards my BA degree in Costume Design and Making, and a member of an amateur theatre company in my home city, Newcastle. Most of my work there is as a wardrobe assistant, organising the theatre’s stock of costume pieces and picking out garments to use for shows, but I have occasionally appeared in productions as part of the cast. In summer 2021, I worked in Nottingham on Jingah Island, embellishing pre-bought costumes and making some pieces from scratch.

My design work is influenced by historical research and fantasy illustrations. I have a particular love for the fashions of the 18th and 19th centuries and enjoy experimenting with fantastical elements to blend real history with the cultures of imagined worlds. I also take commissions to illustrate portraits of customers’ original characters, from fiction writing projects or tabletop RPGS.
